Every Morning

Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, "The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.". Lamentations 3:22-24  Every new day we are given is another opportunity to serve God and make an impact for Him in the world.  It is so easy to go through the day to day motions and not even acknowledge God's presence.  I can be guilty of it---even when I am doing good, God-honoring things.

As my life situation has changed and I am alone a majority of the time it has given me a great opportunity to do a little self-reflection, introspection so to speak.  I can't help but think of the Israelites wandering in the desert for 40 years.  If you look at the map you know that it shouldn't have taken them forty years but God, in His sovereignty knew they were not ready to enter the promised land.  They had not learned to rely on God Almighty, the great I AM.  I'm now 41 and think of the past forty years....that wandering in the desert that I've done.  I want to spend the next 40 (Lord willing) following the straight path that He has for me.  His Word promises, "in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight."  Proverbs 3:6

We know that from Psalm 139 He knit us in our mothers' womb, all the days of our lives are numbered in His book and that we are fearfully and wonderfully made.  According to Jeremiah 29:11 He has a plan for our lives.  With all of that in mind, it should come as to surprise that He has a specific vision (revelation) for my life (and yours).  Now, why hadn't I thought of that?!  It's exciting and puzzling. 

One of my favorite verses is Habakkuk 2:3 For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false.  Though it linger, wait for it; for it will certainly come and will not delay.   What a promise!  Do you have a revelation from God?  Do you know what His vision for your life is?  If not, pray tonight that He would reveal Himself to you.....I know I will be.
